Cranston West’s Angela Gemma had a senior season to remember on the tennis court.
Playing as West’s top singles player, Gemma rolled through Division II competition during the regular season, earning her the top seed for Division II for the state main singles draw.
Gemma drew the 16-seed out of Division I, Westerly’s Julia DeGrooth, in the first round and Gemma made quick work of her, taking the match in straight sets 6-0, 6-3.
In the Round of 16, Gemma ran into a tougher test in Division I’s No. 5-seed, Moses Brown’s Annie DaSilva, who eliminated Gemma with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
