Bain reunion

CLASS OF 1975: The largest contingent at the reunion were members of Bain’s class of 1975.

GOT CAUGHT: Mary Brailsford-Medeiros, class of 1975, recalled sneaking some friends from Park View into an after school dance in the Bain cafeteria. She was caught by the principal.

MET HUSBAND AT BAIN: Delores DiMeo-Carroll, class of 1957, recalled meeting her second husband in ninth grade at Bain.

A CHANGE IN TIME: When asked his favorite memory of attending Bain, Malcom Najarian from the class of 1973 recalled one of the baseball players changing the clock 25 minutes ahead in Mr. Tanzi’s math class – and that he, along with the team, walked out early.

BEST DATE EVER: Recalling a precious memory as a student at Bain was Denyce Rocchio, class of 1981, who was asked to her first dance by a deaf classmate who said he could feel the beat of the music.

HOLDING ON TO A SECRET: When Bernadette Conti, class of 1951, went to Bain, she recalls being asked during an assembly to hold onto a strong box with unknown contents for the summer. It was returned when school started in the fall. To this day, she has no idea what was in the strong box.

A WINNER: Paul Bamford, class of 1962, was on the swim team at Bain, and during a home meet held at Gladstone Elementary School, he beat everyone in the 200-meter breast stroke by two lengths of the pool.

The call went out to all alumni of Bain Middle School for a reunion, which was held on March 27 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Park Avenue. Approximately 150 graduates attended and enjoyed an evening of music and reminiscing. At the event, attendees were asked, “What was your favorite memory of attending Bain?” What follows are some of their replies.
