Rhode Island CollegeBoundfund partnered with the Pawtucket Red Sox for CollegeBoundfund Savings Night at McCoy Stadium recently, a day highlighting 529 college savings plans as an effective, tax-advantaged way to save for college. The first pitch was thrown by Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina Raimondo, who reinforced a financial empowerment message in a CollegeBoundfund public service announcement that aired during the game. Three winners were picked to receive a $529 contribution to a CollegeBoundfund account and 40 tickets to the game were donated to the Calcutt Middle School in neighboring Central Falls.
