The Cranston-based Comprehensive Community Action Program (CCAP) on June 18 celebrated the 2016 GED graduates from its Learn to Earn Program during a ceremony at Cranston High School East. Nearly 200 graduates received their diplomas in East’s auditorium, cheered on by scores of family members and friends. The program has sites in Cranston, Warwick, Providence, and Pawtucket. Adriana Sebastian, a 2014 CCAP GED graduate who currently works as manager of the b.good restaurant in Mansfield, Mass., was the ceremony’s keynote speaker, while Samantha Pittman from the Pawtucket Youth Center and Dari’on Carrion from the Providence Skills Center served as student speakers. Chris Mansfield, CCAP’s vice president for family development, and Robert Coupe, director of administration for Cranston Mayor Allan Fung, provided welcoming remarks. They later joined CCAP Vice President for Development and Corporate Affairs Lee Beliveau and Dr. Philip Less, administration of the Rhode Island Department of Education’s Adult Basic Education and GED Programs, in presenting the diplomas.
