The bond between fathers and daughters is especially strong and when it comes to golf, the team of Ava, 11, and Alan Santamaria are no exception. Playing in only their second RIGA Father and Daughter Event, they captured first place in the net division with a score of 67.
The event is an alternate shot format and was held at the Alpine Country Club last month.
The RIGA event is held annually for fathers and sons and fathers and daughters statewide. It is played over two days with the Senior Division being played on day 1 and the juniors (17-and-under) being played on day 2.
