Cranston’s R.I. Rays 11U team wins title

Cranston’s R.I. Rays 11U AAU baseball club was invited to and won the USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) Baseball New England Super NIT, which took place from May 1-3, in North Branford, Conn. The team also got invited to play in a national tournament at ESPN’s Wide World Of Sports in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. in August. 

After being down 11-5 in the championship game, the Rays scored nine runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 14-11 lead over the Connecticut Braves to win the championship. The Rays played teams from Conn., Mass., N.Y. and N.J.

In the front row: Evan Dacey, Aaron Narcavage, Domenic Brazeau, Andrew Travieso and Kaden Santurri. In the second row: Ruben Fernandez, Cameron Carr, Chase Pariseau, Tyler DiNezza, Kenny Rix, Cole Carbone and Alex Marot.
