David L. Parenteau

David L. Parenteau, of Princeton Ave, Coventry, died February 3, 2014 after a brief illness. He was the fiancée and longtime companion of Kathleen Lavallee.

Born in North Kingstown, RI, December 8, 1964, he was the devoted son of Carolyn M. (LeClair) McDonald and the late Robert J. Parenteau. David was a six year veteran of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the Narragansett Bow Hunters Club and was the R.I State Rep. of the International Bow Organization. David was an avid bow hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted Bruins fan, and also a great artist.

He is survived by his beloved and cherished daughter, Amanda; his grandson Jaden, who was his buddy and best friend, of Coventry; his three brothers, Paul Parenteau (Sandra), of Warwick, William Parenteau, of Warwick and Steven Parenteau, of West Warwick; three sisters Terri Chatterly (Charlie), Debra DeGregory (Peter), Cyndi Podgurski (Paul), all of Coventry; also the children of his fiancée, Amanda M. Lavallee and Evan Lavallee, of Coventry. David was the grandson of the late Carolyn McClean and Alcide and Amanda Parenteau. Godfather to Paul A. Parenteau II, of Warwick and Nathan D. Chatterly, of Coventry; and several nieces and nephews. David was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

His funeral will be held Saturday, February 8 at 8:30 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave. at 9:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
