To the Editor:

With National Grid, and Narragansett Electric/New England Electric before it, the bafflegab never ceases. As a former PUC chairman, I can recall this kind of double-talk every time we had a rate case. 

My one comment on the answers you received to your questions is that gas, which is supplied to consumers, competes with other products, especially heating oil. Magically, prices drop. The supplying of electricity is a monopoly and not surprisingly that is where (at the same time) the price increases show up. As you say in your article, “go figure.”
