On Friday, Oct. 19, the historic Park Theatre in Cranston will present Drumline Live. This high-energy show, created by the music team behind the 20th Century Fox hit movie Drumline which starred Nick Cannon, brings show-style marching bands to the theatrical stage for an unforgettable musical event.

Currently on its third national tour, Drumline Live “dazzles with explosive choreography and thrilling spectacle…,” according to Showbiz Chicago. Throughout the performance, a versatile group of musicians and dancers takes the stage; bringing explosive energy and athleticism to an eclectic mix of sounds

“We’ve taken the excitement of an HBCU football game halftime show, increased the intensity by a thousand watts, and created a musical journey that will touch every emotion,” explained Don P. Roberts, Creator and Director.

Students, families and local band members are sure to enjoy the experience of the beloved marching band tradition of the South, which mixes soul-infused Top 40 hits with R&B, Motown classics and original compositions.

The performance of Drumline Live will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19. Tickets are priced at $35, $45 and $55. Special discounts are available for groups, seniors and students by calling the Theatre directly. Tickets may be purchased at www.parktheatreri.com or by calling the Box Office at 467-7275. The Park Theatre is located at 848 Park Ave., Cranston. Free parking is available for all shows.

Built in 1924, the Park Theatre served as a cultural landmark for nearly eight decades until its closing in 2002. Following seven years and $10 million in renovations, the Park Theatre has been reborn as Rhode Island’s newest theatre and performing arts center. As a fully-equipped, state of the art multi-purpose facility, the Park Theatre features concerts, comedy, theatrical performances, opera, dance recitals, children’s and family shows, and more. Through its extensive renovations, the Park Theatre boasts a larger, deeper stage and 1,000 plush seats that feature significantly more legroom between rows than most theatres. The facility also includes the Stage Door Restaurant and Lounge, a pre-show destination that offers a unique environment for guests to indulge in gourmet dinners, appetizer offerings and cocktails before a performance. Free parking is available for all events behind City Hall. For more information, visit www.ParkTheatreRI.com.
