NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing on the following proposed Ordinances will be held before the Finance Committee on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. Council Chambers, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter.

Complete copies of the Ordinances are available for public review at the City Clerk’s Office and the Cranston Central Library and can be viewed on the City’s website cranstonri.com under calendar by clicking on the meeting date.

“Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the City Clerk’s Office at 461-1000 ext. 3197 seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the hearing date.”

Proposed Ordinances 9-13-01 in Amendment of Title 3.92 of the Code of the City of Cranston 2005 entitled “Five Year Economic Development Tax Incentive Program for Commercially Zoned Property”

Proposed Ordinance 9-13-02 in Amendment of Title 3.96 of the Code of the City of Cranston 2005 entitled “Ten Year Economic Development Tax Incentive Program for Commercially Zoned Property”

Proposed Ordnance 9-13-03 in Amendment of Title 3.84 of the Code of the City of Cranston 2005 entitled “Five Year Economic Development Tax Incentive Program for Industrially Zoned Property”

Proposed Ordinance 9-13-04 Amendment of Title 3.88 of the Code of the City of Cranston 2005 entitled “Ten Year Economic Development Tax Incentive Program for Industrially Zoned Property”

These proposed ordinances amend the existing tax incentive programs in place for industrial and commercially zoned properties which would require continuing job growth of three to five jobs per year to maintain eligibility for the tax incentive program, and removes bank branches form the commercial ordinance definition. The new requirements will be applicable to all applications approved subsequent to the amendment of these ordinances are will not affect applications previously approved.
