Helen (Pelli) Meloni, 88, of Cranston, passed away April 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the beloved wife of Nicholas Meloni for 66 years.
Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Simone and Mary (Carnevale) Pelli. Helen worked for the State of Rhode Island as a cook for the Providence School Department for 20 years before retiring in 1986.
She was an avid ballroom dancer. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was the beloved mother of Nicholas Meloni Jr. and David J. Meloni and his wife, Tammy, all of Cranston. She was the devoted grandmother of Sheena Meloni and David Meloni Jr. and dear sister of Phoebe Vitolo of Cranston and the late Etta Conneely, Ann Aubin, Joseph Pelli and Anthony Pelli.
Her funeral was held April 11 from Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston. Interment was at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visit www.nardolillo.com for information and online condolences.
