Josephine I. (Dimaio) Carraccio, 98, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home last Sunday. She was the wife of the late Pasquale Carraccio.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Christopher and Maria (Maltese) DiMaio. Josephine will be remembered as a loving woman devoted to both her immediate and large extended family. She was a loyal fan of the NY Yankees and Providence College Friars basketball team.
She is survived by her three children, Joanne Pickford and husband, Stanley of North Smithfield, Joyce Carraccio Smith of LaJolla, CA, and Ronald Carraccio and wife, Deborah of West Greenwich; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Francis, James, Dr. Anthony and Dr. Michael DiMaio; Mary DiMase; and Linda DeLisi.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the A. Tarro & Sons Funeral Home, 425 Broadway, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting Hours Thursday 5-8 p.m.
