On May 17, the Defenders of Animals organization held its annual May Breakfast at the Governor Sprague Mansion in Cranston.
Held as part of “Pet Appreciation Week,” the breakfast drew approximately 50 people, and 100 percent of the net proceeds are used for the Defenders’ low-cost spay/neuter and animal emergency medical care program. Culinary Affairs in Cranston prepared the breakfast.
The mission of Defenders of Animals is to defend the inalienable rights of companion animals and wildlife through education, legal and legislative activism. The group began in April 1978.
