The office romance of Meg Fraser and William Geoghegan was solidified in marriage on July 11, 2014 during a beautiful ceremony on the water at Crystal Lake Golf Club in Burrillville. Reverend Marsue Harris of Trinity Episcopal Church presided over the service. A reception followed at the Crystal Lake clubhouse, where guests munched on clamcakes and chowder during an outdoor cocktail hour, while Saddle Up the Chicken, a folk band that plays regularly at the couple’s local farmers market, performed. Inside, DJ Pete Kelleher took over and kept the dance floor crowded for the rest of the night.

Meg and William met at Beacon Communications while Meg served as editor of the Cranston Herald and Johnston Sun Rise newspapers and William served as sports editor for all three Beacon newspapers, a position he maintains today. Fellow newspaperman Paul Spetrini, president of the Rhode Island Press Association board, served as photographer for the evening.

The bride is the daughter of Robert Fraser of Warwick and the late Elizabeth Fraser. She is a graduate of Pilgrim High School and Northeastern University and is currently the Director of Communications for Congressman Jim Langevin. The groom is the son of Dr. Thomas and Kathleen Geoghegan of Louisville, Kentucky. He is a graduate of St. Xavier High School and the University of Dayton.

Heather Fraser, the bride’s sister, was the maid of honor, and former Beacon sports editor Ed Owens was the best man. Kelley Fraser-Pigeon, Laura Armstrong, Kyle Schmitt, Kristyn Bourne and Caitlin Traversie were bridesmaids, and the groomsmen were Dave Fecteau, Chris Greffin, Zach Cull, Thomas Barnell and Matthew Dowell. Lilly Pigeon, the 5-year-old niece of the bride, was the flower girl – a role she took very seriously.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Geoghegan reside in Wickford.
