Spring weather set the stage for an annual rite of spring Saturday morning, as CLCF’s Cal Ripken Baseball League held its opening day ceremonies. Players, coaches and parents paraded from Cranston Stadium to nearby Ricci Field for the usual pomp and circumstance and the official beginning of another baseball season. Baseball and softball leagues across the city are underway, with ceremonies on tap in the coming weeks. CLCF’s softball program held opening day last week, and Little Leagues begin their opening days next week.
