On April 19, local singer/songwriter Joanne Lurgio held a release party for her new album, “Rise from the Storm,” at the Pub on Park in Cranston. There was not a single empty seat in the house. Lurgio performed some of the songs from her album and ended the set with “Won’t Ever Quit.” with breast cancer survivors singing the chorus on stage. “Won’t Ever Quit” was written for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. At left, Lurgio autographs a CD jacket for friend and fan Katie Lewis, who is a customer representative from Motif Magazine.
