NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing on the following proposed Ordinances will be held before the Ordinance Committee on Thursday. June 12, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. City Council Chambers, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, R.I. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter.

Complete copies of all proposed Ordinances are available for public review at the City Clerk’s Office, and the Cranston Central Library and the City website cranstonri.com under calendar by clicking on the meeting date.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE 5-14-01 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10, CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”

(Atwood Walnut Grove and Elena Intersection)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

Section1. Chapter 10.32.020, entitled “Stop intersections-Enumerated” is hereby amended by deleting there from the following:

[Elena Street, at its intersection with Walnut Grove Avenue]

[Walnut Grove Avenue, at its intersection with Atwood Avenue]

Section 2. Chapter 10.32.020, entitled “Stop intersection-Enumerated” is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:

Walnut Grove Avenue, at its intersection with Elena Street.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon completion of the re-construction of the intersection of Walnut Grove Avenue at Elena Street in accordance with item 6(d) of the fully executed Construction Funding and Maintenance Agreement, Rhode Island Contract No. 2013-CT-060, by and between the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations and the City of Cranston.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE 5-14-02 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 2.32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON,2005, ENTITLED “HARBOR MASTER”

(Harbor Fees and Records)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 2.32.080 Harbor Management Plan is hereby amended as follows:

2.32.060 Deposit of Revenue into [Enterprise Account] General Fund

All revenue generated by City boat launching fees, mooring permit fees, qualified mooring inspections, other fees of this Chapter, and fines levied under the authority of this Chapter shall be deposited into the [ Harbor Management Enterprise Account whose use shall be restricted to the funding of harbor management activities including the management and implementation of the City’s HMP and the Cranston Code of Ordinances Chapters 2.32 and 12.24.] General Fund.

2.32.040 Records and Numbering

A. The harbormaster shall keep a detailed record of all mooring and dock slips and their location based on a current harbor management plan. The records shall include the owner’s name, home and business address, telephone number(s), permit number and mooring number, the date the mooring was placed, last mooring inspection date, and all vessel data, the mooring type and classification. The original records shall be kept on file with the Cranston Police Department.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE 5-14-5 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10, CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”

(No Parking on Gladstone Street, North Side,)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

Section 1. Chapter 10.32, Section .040 entitled “No Parking on Certain Streets—Generally” is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:

10.32. Section .040 - No Parking on Certain Streets—Generally.

No vehicle shall remain standing for any period of time within or upon any of the following streets or highways or parts thereof:

Gladstone Street, north side, from Browne Street easterly to Cranston Street. for a distance of fifty (50) feet.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
