Police are investigating a recent early-morning break-in and assault at a home on Bay View Avenue.
The incident occurred on Sept. 9. According to police, a resident of the home interrupted the break-in and was confronted by the suspect, described as an unshaven, dark-skinned male in his 20s, standing roughly six feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds with a muscular build.
Police say the suspect – who was seen leaving the scene in a gray or silver Buick four-door vehicle heading toward Providence – gained entry to the home by removing a window air conditioner. Several laptops and a television were taken during the break-in.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or location is asked to contact Cranston police at 401-942-2211, ext. 5065. Detective Joseph Hopkins is investigating.
