PUBLIC NOTIFICATION FOR FLOOD HAZARD REVISIONS

The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), hereby gives notice of the FEMA’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located within the City of Cranston. Specifically, the flood hazard information shall be revised along Meshanticut Brook from approximately 540 feet downstream of Phenix Avenue to approximately 210 feet upstream of Scituate Avenue. Also, the flood hazard information shall be revised along Meshanticut Brook Diversion 2 for its entire length.

As a result of the revision, along Meshanticut Brook, the floodway shall narrow, the 1% annual chance water-surface elevations shall increase and decrease, and the 1% annual chance floodplain shall narrow within the area of revision.

Also as a result of the revision, along Meshanticut Brook Diversion 2, the 1% annual chance water-surface elevations and the 1% annual chance floodplain shall be established within the area of revision.
