He’s rocked the music world for generations, and now he’s ready to rock the holiday season.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, the legendary Felix Cavaliere will bring his special holiday show—Rockin’ the Holidays with Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals—to the Park Theatre for an all-ages celebration of joy, compassion and family. Cavaliere’s Rhode Island show comes on the heels of the Nov. 14 release of his first Christmas album, Christmas Joy, paired with the entertainer’s biggest hits. Tickets are currently on sale.

Rockin’ the Holidays is a musical journey featuring a blend of music and entertainment from one of America’s most celebrated singer-songwriters. Joined by the talents of the Cranston High School East Choir, an astounding band, interactive video and a soulful voice, Rockin’ the Holidays combines everyone’s holiday favorites with the biggest hits from Felix Cavaliere’s Hall of Fame songbook, including “Groovin,’” “A Beautiful Morning,” and the timeless, “Good Lovin.’”

Known as the “King of Blue-Eyed Soul,” Cavaliere formed the Young Rascals in 1965 with Dino Danelli, Eddie Brigati and Gene Cornish. Having caught the attention of promoter/manager Sid Bernstein with their high-energy set at Long Island’s elite club, Barge, Bernstein signed the group to Atlantic Records. Now called The Rascals, the group achieved superstardom when their mega hit, “Good Lovin’” topped the charts in 1966. The Rascals followed this breakthrough with a string of hits, such as “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long,” “Groovin,’” and “People Got to Be Free,” establishing themselves as one of music’s best-selling groups. All told, the Felix Cavaliere-led Rascals enjoyed 18 Top 40 hits and 3 No. 1 mega hits.

Cavaliere, who will celebrate 50 years of award-winning music in 2015, debuted his Christmas collection with the 10-track, Christmas Joy. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame and Grammy Hall of Fame inductee delivers the season’s soundtrack with his self-penned “Christmas In Your Arms” wrapped alongside traditional selections, including “Please Come Home for Christmas,” “Christmas Is Coming Soon,” “The Bells of St. Mary’s,” and more.

“I wanted to choose songs that reminded me of growing up in New York, the sounds you heard on the streets. It was a different time back then, but we all have an instant connection when we hear Christmas songs,” said Cavaliere. “It takes us back to a memory, a place, or feels like home—as a songwriter, it’s a privilege to put your listeners in this state of mind.”

As one of the region’s premiere performance ensembles, the Cranston High School East Choir is set to share the stage with one of music’s most renowned performers in their hometown. Over the past five decades, the Cranston East Choir has traveled the globe, performing in countries such as Russia, Italy, Austria, France and Ireland, while also entertaining audiences stateside at Walt Disney World and the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

A source of pride for the City of Cranston, the Cranston East Choir regularly delivers free public performances at school sponsored concerts and community events. Each year, the award-winning ensemble participates in the Rhode Island Music Education Association State Choral Festival, consistently earning superior and excellent ratings.

Rockin’ the Holidays with Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Tickets are $35, $45 and $55 and are available by calling the Box Office at (401) 467-PARK or online at www.ParkTheatreRI.com. The Park Theatre is located at 848 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910.
