New York 8, Maryland 7

In its final game, New York went out with a bang. The club picked up its first victory of the tournament in dramatic fashion, winning in the seventh inning. Vincent Spaziante led the way for the New York offense, going 2-for-3. Maryland fell to 0-3 and will try for a win in its finale tomorrow against Pennsylvania.

Massachusetts 16, Vermont 15

Massachusetts moved one step closer to a berth in the New England championship by outlasting a tough Vermont team in one of the tourney's biggest slugfests. Colin Ahearn carried the load for Massachusetts, going 4-for-4 with seven RBI. Massachusetts finishes pool play at 3-1, while Vermont is 1-2 heading into its pool play finale against New Hampshire on Thursday.

Maine 5, Rhode Island 3

Winless coming in, Maine came to life in its final game and edged Rhode Island 5-3. Ben Ham turned in an impressive pitching performance to lead the Maine squad and set the stage for the victory. Rhode Island's Andrew Florio hit a two-run home run in the sixth, but Maine held off the charge to seal the victory. Rhode Island, which fell to 1-2, has one more pool-play game remaining, as the team will face undefeated Connecticut on Thursday.
