Joseph Costantino, formerly of Warwick, was promoted to the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force at a Nov. 20, 2015 ceremony in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., where he is currently stationed. He is serving as the principal director of Occupational Health Policy in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force. Previous assignments included being a Squadron Commander of the Aerospace Medicine Squadron at Kirtland Air Force Base, Major Command Bioenvironmental Engineer for Air Force Special Operations and Air Mobility Command. He was also deployed as a Theater Engineer at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Costantino graduated from Toll Gate High School, received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a Master's of Science in environmental management from the University of Oklahoma. He was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force in 1992 and has been stationed at nine different Air Force bases throughout the United States. He is married to Deborah (Kelley), also from Warwick. He is the son of Anthony Costantino of Kissimmee, Fla. and the late Dorothy Fogell Costantino and stepson of Marjorie Viau Costantino.
