Sarah Marie Szafranowicz and Ryan David Smith were united in marriage October 1, 2011 by the Reverend Douglas C. Smith, uncle of the groom, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Cohasset, Mass. A reception followed at the Red Lion Inn.

Sarah is the daughter of John and Joanne Szafranowicz of South Hadley, Mass. She is a graduate of South Hadley High School and the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. She is a senior account manager with Shape Up in Providence.

Ryan is the son of David and Kathy Smith of Warwick. He is a graduate of Toll Gate High School and Western New England College in Springfield, Mass. He is a business analyst with Sovereign Bank in East Providence.

Desiree Kniker, Sarah’s childhood friend, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Ashton, cousin of the bride, Christina Chaconas, Wendy Conway, cousin of the bride, Jackie McDonnell, Jenna Smith, sister-in-law of the couple, and Katie Sullivan. Emma Kombluth was the flower girl.

Erik Smith was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Dean and Kyle Smith, brothers of the groom, Dave Becraft, Jonathan Chaffe, Matthew Cordle and Nathan Smith, cousin of the groom. Marcus Sanchez was the ring bearer.

Sarah and Ryan honeymooned in St. Lucia. They make their home in Cranston.
