At its biennial organizational meeting held on Monday, Jan. 19, the Cranston Democratic City Committee unanimously re-elected Michael J. Sepe as chair for the 2015-16 term.
Sepe has served as chair since January 1997. He was re-
elected without any opposition from the 47 members in attendance.
In his acceptance speech, Sepe pledged to work tirelessly to elect a Democrat as mayor in November 2016, along with a Democratic City Council to work together to keep property taxes in check while leading Cranston forward.
Sepe also noted that the Democratic-controlled council has passed three consecutive operating budgets without any property tax increase.
The current council members in attendances were John E. Lanni Jr., president; Richard Sanatamaria, vice president; Michael J. Farina, citywide; Paul Archetto, Ward 3 and majority leader; and Councilperson Mario Aceto, Ward 4.
Guests at the organizational meeting included Democratic members of Cranston’s General Assembly delegation, who pledged to protect the best interest of Cranston’s residents at the State House.
Also elected as officers of the Cranston Democratic City Committee for a two-year term were Edward DiMuccio, 1st vice chair; Jacqueline Hersey, 2nd vice chair; Steven Carrera, financial secretary; Steven McGovern, recording secretary; Richard DelSesto, treasurer; and Nicholas Mannocchio, parliamentarian.

Dont be so sure you will get a democrat into the mayors office Mr. Sepe. We love our great mayor Allan Fung. If he runs again in 2016 as mayor most of Cranston will be voting for him! Republians like Mayor Fung know how to get the job done. Look at what happen when the Democrate got Mr. Napolitano in as maoyr for 1 term. He screwed Cranston up. We as the cranston residents will get Fung back into the mayors office in 2016
