(Great special effects/confusing story)

Arnold Schwarzenegger promised he’d be back, and he is, looking a bit older but still able to muscle his way to victory over his machine counterparts.

“Terminator Genisys” is pure fantasy, with great special effects, but a time travel story that is so complicated and convoluted it will give you a headache trying to follow it. There are a few funny lines thrown in, but the funniest ones come out of Schwarzenneger’s mouth as he spews complicated scientific gobbledygook.

The year is 2017. The robots have destroyed life as we know it. John Connor (Jason Clarke) has a plan to send Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to save Sarah Connor (Emelia Clarke), John’s mother. Kyle sees the Terminator as just another bad robot, not realizing that he has been protecting Sarah all these years. They eventually team up to fight all the other cyborgs, resulting in endless battles, car chases and great special effects.

If you like the series, you should enjoy the sequel. If you can keep up with all the twists and turns and time changes, you are better than we are.

Rated PG-13, with some profanity, some innocent nudity and lots of sci-fi violence.
