Connecting Generations Program
What is a tweet? What is the difference between Facebook and Instagram? Skype/Stream … smartphone … Android? Ugh! Older adults have lived most of their lives without these devices and terminology, where the younger generation was born into this world of modern technology. In a way, it’s as if we are talking two different languages. What can we do about this? We now have help – the “Cyber-Seniors: Connecting Generations program.” This program pairs tech-savvy youth mentors with interested seniors to catch them up to speed with today’s modern technology and terminology. Two URI pharmacy students are bringing this program to Cranston. They will tell us about this program and will help us understand the cyber/social media terminology that is part of today’s world. Furthermore, during the months of July and August, they will be available to answer questions and concerns with any “gadget” you may have. Bring in any device – cell phone, tablet, computer, etc. They are here to help!
