Woodridge Elementary School ended the school year by celebrating Reading Week. The week was a great success under the direction of reading specialist Karen Marocco, and included a variety of special activities designed to promote a continued love of literacy. Helping in the celebration was a long list of guest readers, including volunteers from within the Cranston community as well as across the state of Rhode Island. Guest readers at the school were Joe Rotz of the Cranston Public Schools central administration, representatives from the ASPCA, Cranston schools retirees Vincent Rozen and Margaret Kelly, WJAR meteorologist Kelly Bates, Cranston East Principal Sean Kelly, Secretary of State Ralph Mollis, Park View Principal Mike Crudale, Bain Principal Jenny Chan-Remka, Western Hills Principal Anthony Corrente, pediatric dentist Dr. Fotini Dionisopoulos, Cranston Herald reporter Jen Cowart, and state Sen. Frank Lombardi. (Herald photos by Jen Cowart)
