Alexander D. Rego, 89, of Cranston, passed away on December 2, 2019 peacefully at home in the presence of family.

Born in Providence on May 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Alexander and Jennie (Colangelo) Rego and brother of the late Vera Larson. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Alexander was known for his friendliness, caring and love. He was always there to lend a hand to family and friends. He loved sports, especially baseball and the Yankees.

Alexander is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Rego; two sons, John Rego of Washington, D.C. and Steven Rego of West Kingston; and two grandchildren, Owen and Delaney of Washington, D.C. A much-devoted father, he cared for their daughter Rebecca throughout life until her passing.

Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 7 in The Butterfield Chapel, 500 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on December 7 in St. Mark’s Church, 9 Garden Court, Cranston, followed by burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery Cranston.
