On March 17, a local tradition was held for the Cranston Irish community at the Irish Ceilidhe Club of R.I., located on America Street in Cranston. Throughout the St. Patrick’s program, there were a mass, a raffle and a flag-raising, at which time both the American National and Irish National Anthems were sung by Jen Lanigan.
After the flag-raising, they had refreshments, including corned beef and other sandwiches as well as a table of sweets. In the downstairs pub, they also had traditional Irish music performed by The Irish Ramblers and upstairs they had traditional Irish step dancing performed by Tir Na Nog, (Land of the Forever Young), an Irish dance group located in Cranston.
