Police are seeking a man in connection with a recent melee that has drawn widespread attention online.
Wilson Rivera, 18, is wanted on a charge of felony assault with a dangerous weapon, according to Cranston police. His photograph has been circulated by police via social media, along with a likeness of a tan 1999 Acura TL registered to him.
Rivera is wanted in connection with a fight that occurred at Mulligan’s Island on Friday night, video of which has circulated quickly across social media. The incident involved multiple people, including a teenage girl who was reportedly injured.
Anyone with information regarding Rivera’s whereabouts is asked to contact Cranston police at 401-942-2211. Anonymous tips are also accepted through a link on the department’s website, cranstonpoliceri.com.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men suspected in the theft of a purse from the Whole Foods location on Sockanosset Cross Road.
According to a message posted on Facebook, the men went to the Target store in Warwick after taking the purse and “purchased several hundred dollars worth of gift cards using the victim’s credit card.” The purse also contained a wedding band valued at $11,000, police said.
