Raymond Basker, 44, of 85 Burbank St., was arrested by Cranston Police this past week after a violent incident involving him and a male victim at his home on June 19 around 8:49 p.m.
Cranston police received a call on the night of June 19 with a report that several people may have been cut by a knife in a disturbance at 85 Burbank St. A victim also called the police saying that he was bleeding very badly and needed help from the police. He also said the suspect stabber was hiding on the first floor at that time.
Upon arrival, police found the victim bleeding profusely from multiple lacerations to the head, face, upper back, arm, leg, and neck. He also sustained a deep bite mark in his shoulder. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where his injuries were deemed serious but not life-threatening and he was treated.
Investigators determined that Basker, who lives on the first floor of the apartment complex, got into a verbal argument with the victim, who was on the second floor, and smashed him over the head with a glass vase, then struck him repeatedly with a hammer and then bit the victim on the shoulder.
There were also two female victims on scene, who were also bleeding from wounds sustained during an attempt to break up the fight between Basker and the male victim. They were brought to the hospital as well.
Basker had sustained injuries as well and was transported to Kent Hospital.
He was charged with Domestic Felony Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct because the victim was an in-law of his. He was arraigned at court and released on a $20,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with all victims. His next court date is schedule for September 19 in superior court.
