Cranston schools shine in scholastic art awards

At this year’s Scholastic Art and Writing awards competition, dozens of students from Cranston High Schools East and West as well as Hope Highlands, Park View, and Western Hills Middle Schools were awarded Gold and Silver Key awards.

The following students were recognized from Cranston High School East: Brandon Chin, Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration, American Visions Nominee, Nathaniel Hardy, Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration, Kailee Pearson, Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration, Jessica Capobianco, Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration, Indiamei Coren, Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration, Maya Lane, Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration, Kailee Pearson, Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration, Vo Thien, Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration, Emily Fontes, Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration, Nathaniel Hardy, Gold Key, Mixed Media, Michelle Phan, Gold Key, Mixed Media, Jorgie Pashalian, Gold Key, Mixed Media, Cassidy Greig, Silver Key, Mixed Media, Casey Nolan, Gold Key, Print Making, David Luong, Gold Key, Sculpture, and Jorgie Pashalian Gold Key, Art Portfolio.

At the middle school level, the following students were recognized from Hope Highlands Middle School: Dante Aceto, Silver Key, Sculpture, Taylor Ferraro, Silver Key, Mixed Media, Gianni Diarbi, Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration, and Meagan Ragosta, Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration.

At Park View Middle School, the following students were recognized: Alexis Souza, Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration, Mathilda Corcoran, Silver Key, Mixed Media, and Lindsey Diaz, Silver Key, Mixed Media.

At Western Hills Middle School, Angelica Bueno was awarded a Silver Key award, Mixed Media.

This was the 95th year of the competition.
