The Cranston East and West girls indoor track teams were in action at the Providence Career & Technical Academy last week during their league meets on Jan. 7th and Jan. 9th, and a handful of athletes made noise.

Here is a look at some of the top finishers from each group: East

Eden Fisher led the Lady Bolts with a first-place finish in the 1,000-meter run, while teammate Miko Lehnert placed behind her in sixth. Shyan Ouch also took home a first-place finish in the shot put.

Stella Loezos placed second in the 1,500 run and third in the 600-meter run. Madeline Baxter placed fifth in the 600 while Aislinn Baxter took fifth in the 1,500.

Olivia Foster took home a fourth-place finish in the 55 dash while Zoe Catrambone took seventh. Catrambone went on to take fourth in the 300 dash, while Foster finished behind her in ninth. Catrambone also finished fourth in the high jump, while Madeline Baxter took seventh.

Foster late finished third in the long jump while Lillian Wall took fifth. Fisher went on to finish sixth in the 3,000 run, followed by Lehnert in eighth. Madeline Baxter took seventh in the 55-meter hurdles.

Madison Gunderway placed sixth in the shot put, while Ouch took sixth in the weight throw. Gunderway finished 10th in the weight throw.

The Lady Thunderbolts competed on Wednesday evening, but the results were not available at press time. West

Maddie Barbieri led the Lady Falcons with a second-place finish in the 300, followed by teammate Gianna King in third. Elizabeth Marses finished second in the shot put, followed by Juliana Bucci in third, Ava West in seventh and Mary DeSilva in ninth.

Ava West then went on to take third in the weight throw, followed by Marses in eight and DeSilva in 10th. Lindsey Hobin finished fourth in the high jump, followed by Tarah Costa in ninth. Lindsey Hobin also finished sixth in the 55 high hurdles, followed by Maya Fraenza in eighth and Maddie Salvato in ninth.

Aria Lee ran to a sixth-place finish in the 1,000 run, followed by Estella Kue in ninth and Rachel Hobin in 10th. Dea Xhupi placed eighth in the 600 run while Ayia Tatari placed ninth. Barbieri later took ninth in the 55 hurdles.

The Falcons will be back in action tonight in Providence as they get closer to next month’s state championship meet.
