Wind gusts were strong throughout the night, but a break from the rain meant Cranston was bustling with Halloween fun for children of all ages on Oct. 31.

The first stop was the Cranston Police Department’s Garfield Avenue headquarters, where police officers handed out candy and took time to pose with their new friends in costumes.

Next up, the Pastore Youth Center held an indoor party hosted by the Cranston Department of Parks and Recreation. Children enjoyed snacks, games and plenty of candy.

Finally, the Cranston Fire Department’s headquarters on Pontiac Avenue hosted the annual IAFF Local 1363 Halloween Party, which saw hundreds of children coming in and out all evening. Visitors enjoyed pizza, beverages and plenty of candy.

Along the way, a must-stop destination was the Porreca family’s annual pumpkin display, which included 88 decorated and carved pumpkins. The creations were given out for free after 9 p.m.
