Big Brothers and Big Sisters of RI held their 2nd Annual Bowl for Kids Sake at Lang’s Bowlarama on Oct. 13. Approximately 200 bowlers, of all ages, participated and raised approximately $42,000.
The event included Bowl For Kids’ Sake t-shirt, two hours of bowling, free shoe rental, pizza and soda. There were also many raffles and a Penny Social held during the event.
The emcee was Bekah Berger of HOT 106 FM Radio.
Dr. Dorothy Pieniadz, age 94, Founding Mother of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of RI approximately 52 years ago, was also on hand.
Funds raised remain in Rhode Island and help Big Brothers Big Sisters fulfill their mission to provide mentors to the youth of Rhode Island who will motivate and empower them to make positive decisions, improve academic results, avoid risky behaviors, and grow in a way that will positively impact our community.
