New Solar Farm Tour at Old Landfill in North Providence

Posted by malskowron

Green Energy Consumers, formerly Mass Energy and People’s Power & Light, invites you to explore a brand-new solar field at our Renewable Energy Tour in North Providence on Saturday, November 3 from 11am-1pm!

The solar field was built on top of a capped landfill. The site, which was otherwise unsuitable for development, has now become a profitable, clean energy-generating asset to the community. This project is a perfect example of properly-sited solar, and Green Energy Consumers Alliance is excited to support it as a part of our Green Powered program.

Join us, and our friends at the Audubon Society, to learn more about the solar field and the benefits it offers to North Providence and Rhode Island at large. The event will be staged at the Audubon Center, and tour-goers will be shuttled to the solar site, due to limited parking. In addition to the tour, there will be an electric car showcase and trunk-or-treat activity. Come learn about how you can drive electric (powered with energy generated from projects like the solar field) while you collect candy and celebrate the Autumn season.

This event is FREE and open to the public, but please RSVP at https://tourasolarfarm.eventbrite.com
