NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing on the following proposed Ordinances will be held before the Ordinance Committee on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. City Council Chambers, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, R.I. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter.

Complete copies of proposed Ordinances are available for public review at the City Clerk’s Office, and the Cranston Central Library and the City’s website cranstonri.com under calendar by clicking on the meeting date.

“Individuals requesting interpreter services for the dear or hard of hearing must notify the City Clerk’s Office at 461-1000 ext. 3197 seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the hearing date.”

PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 10-19-01 AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10.32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” (Metropolitan Avenue – no parking)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

Section 1. Chapter 10.32.040 entitled “No Parking on Certain Streets Generally” is hereby amended by deleting the following:

[Metropolitan Avenue, north side, from a point five hundred fifty (550) feet east of Phenix Avenue, easterly for a distance of five hundred forty-five (545) feet.]

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO.

10-19-02 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10, CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”

(Crescent Avenue 15 min parking during School hours)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

Section 1. Chapter 10.32, Section .350 entitled “No Parking on Certain Streets-Near Schools When School in Session”, is hereby amended by deleting the following:

10.32.350 - No parking on certain streets—Near schools when school in session.

N. Stadium School. Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., on days when the Stadium School is in session, no vehicle shall remain standing for any period of time on the following streets:

Crescent Avenue, northeasterly side, from a point one hundred (100) feet northwesterly of Wessex Street northwesterly from a distance of five hundred (500) feet.

[Crescent Avenue southwesterly side, from a point opposite the intersection of Appleton Street southeasterly to a point opposite the intersection of Wessex Street.]

And adding the following:

Crescent Avenue, southwesterly side, from Appleton Street southeasterly to Wessex Street except that parking shall be allowed for a period not to exceed fifteen minutes for the purpose of drop-off and pick-up of students in attendance at Stadium School.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.

10-19-03 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10.32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” (Macklin Street -No Parking)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

SECTION 1. Title 10.32.040 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005 entitled ”No Parking on Certain Streets – Monday through Friday” is hereby amended by adding the following:

Macklin Street, north side, from Palmer Avenue easterly for a distance of 100 feet.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.

10-19-07 IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 10.32 OF TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF

CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED

“MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”

(Aqueduct and Intervale 4 way stop)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

SECTION 1. Title 10.32.030 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005 entitled “Multi-Way Stop Intersections Enumerated” is hereby amended by adding the following:

Aqueduct and Intervale Road, 4way stop.

SECTION 2. Title 10.32.020 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005 entitled “Stop Intersections Enumerated” is hereby amended by deleting the following:

[Intervale Road, at its intersection with Aqueduct Road]

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
