For the month of February, the public is invited to the Cranston Public Library’s Central Library location to view the memorabilia and artifacts of Olympic silver medalist and Cranston native Tom Mellor. Mellor competed on the United States hockey team in the 1972 Olympic Games in Japan. On display at the library are his personal photographs, commemorative medals, the original ice hockey program, and more, including the book on Mellor’s experience at the games, Striking Silver. Here, Tom Mellor (right) sports his Olympic silver medal with his father, Don, next to the display case at the Central Library. (Submitted photo by Katy Dorchies)
