ORDINANCE NO. 2017-29

AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 20 OF TITLE 11 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED ‘PARKS AND

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES”

(Ocean Avenue – Scenic Lookout **No Fishing)

pursuant to Sec. 3.14 of the

City Charter

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 12.20 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following new section:

12.20.181 – Ocean Avenue Scenic View.

1. The public access point at the point where Ocean Ave. meets the shoreline shall be opened to the public from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. No person shall enter, park or stand at said scenic public access point or be within the limits of said public access point except during the regular hours.

2. ** There shall be no fishing at the public access point where Ocean Ave. meets the shoreline at any time, *in accordance with Costal Resources Management Council’s designation as a scenic overlook. **Fishing shall be allowed, but confined to the shoreline and not from the roadway or guardrails”.

3. The penalty for a violation of this section shall be a fine not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00).

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
