RI Philharmonic Orchestra announces summer pops series

The RI Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School announced 2018s Summer Pops concert series, which will include four concerts: Narragansett (Friday, July 13), Providence (Friday, Aug. 10), Bristol (Sunday, Sept. 2) and Pawtucket (Saturday, Sept.8). The concerts are free and open to the public.

Francisco Noya, RI Philharmonic Orchestra's resident conductor, will conduct the performances. Among the familiar compositions will be a selection of pieces from Leonard Bernsteins West Side Story; John Williams Harry's Wondrous World from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone; and Tchaikovskys 1812 Overture.

Francisco Noya has been the resident conductor of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra for 20 seasons. He serves as cover conductor and is the leader of pre-concert talks for the classical series concerts. Noya conducts the RI Philharmonic Orchestras annual Link Up education series, Pops and Summer Pops concerts.
