Pallets of cookies reaching at least 15 feet high provided the backdrop Saturday as Girl Scouts from East Greenwich, North Kingstown, Jamestown and Cumberland loaded up vehicles from their respective communities with cookie orders. Theirs were the first of nearly 700,000 packages of cookies to be transported from the Paul Arpin Van Lines warehouse in Warwick to customers in Rhode Island, southeastern Massachusetts and Pawcatuck. Gross sales of Girl Scout cookies – of which Thin Mints are still the most popular – total $3.5 million locally. As Girl Scout leaders pointed out Saturday, cookie sales not only help fund programs but the undertaking is also a valuable exercise in scheduling, sales and logistics. The girls had the system down Saturday, filling orders as each vehicle pulled up to the loading dock. (Warwick Beacon photos)

You can't say "No" to Thin Mints. At least I can't.

    Happy Valentines everyone.
