On June 22, at the Oaklawn Grange in Cranston, Boy Scout Troop 66 Garden City honored Noah Goldthwait and Caleb Joubert as its 157th and 158th Eagle Scouts, respectively.

An estimated 100 people were in attendance for the National High Court of Honor, including Narragansett Council Scout Executive Tim McCandless and Stephanie Culhane of the Cranston School Committee.

Troop 66 Garden City, currently under the leadership of Scoutmaster Jeff Goldthwait, has been active in the community since 1955.

Goldthwait, 17, has held several leadership positions in Scouting. An honor roll student at Cranston High School West, he graduated this year and will be attending the University of Rhode Island this fall to study animal and veterinary sciences.

For his Eagle Scout project, Goldthwait collected arts and crafts materials for Edgewood Highland Elementary School to replenish what was lost when the school flooded in February 2018.

Joubert, 18, has also held several leadership positions in Scouting. A recent graduate of Cranston High School East, he will be attending school to study HVAC/R.

For his Eagle Scout project, Joubert made a bench for the Cranston Public Library. The bench is dedicated to a World War II veteran, Mr. Mellor, who has worked at the library for many years and is a close family friend of the Jouberts.
