On Oct. 5, 2018, Mayor Allan Fung welcomed van Eeghen’s Pharmacy to 650 Oaklawn Ave., Suite 3. Owner Brooke van Eeghan, who grew up in Cranston and is pictured with the mayor, has been a pharmacist for 12 years. “I spent a few years working at Rhode Island hospitals and then joined the Air Force. I served as an active duty pharmacist for eight years. I am still in the Air Force Reserves,” said van Eeghan. She said choosing the location of her own pharmacy was a “no-brainer.” “I really wanted to give back to the community that gave me so much,” she said. (Herald photo by Steve Popiel)
