Number one seed, CLCF (Malloy) 7th Grade Travel team captured the RIYBA Gold State Championship on March 11. In playoff action, CLCF defeated Portsmouth (Conheeny) 50-36; Johnston (Bedrosian) 57-31; and West Warwick 45-33. CLCF finished the season with 35 wins and 4 losses in the division that has 35 teams. This group has won its second consecutive RI State Championship. In 2016-17 season CLCF (Malloy) took the 6th grade state title. The 2017-18 season was dedicated to Hendricken La Crosse Coach Kevin Murray. Coach Murray succumbed to cancer on February 5.
