Summer lunch program schedule announced for Cranston families

Posted

The Cranston school department has announced the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for Children during the months of June to September. The service, which is similar to the school lunch and breakfast programs, is designed to provide meals to children in summer camps around the city.

The kickoff event, called the ‘Summer Lunch Kick-Off BBQ,’ will be at Park View Middle School on Monday, July 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be an inflatable obstacle course provided by the YMCA, and music and art activities provided by CCAP.

The lunch is free to anyone 18 years old or younger and will include hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon, milk, and chips.

There are no income requirements or registration to eat the lunches provided by the Cranston school department and parks and recreation department; any child under the age of 18 can eat.

Lunches will be provided on a first come first served basis and all meals must be consumed on site.

For more information, contact Aramark’s food service office at 270-8069 or email wright-patricia2@aramark.com.
