To the Editor:

There is an old legend that says there are two wolves in all of us. One is an evil wolf and one is a good wolf. The evil wolf is anger, sorrow, envy regret, arrogance and all the qualities that do not make us a person that others enjoy being with.

The good wolf is joy, peace, love, hope and the many qualities that endear us to others.

In our everyday lives there is a terrible fight going on within us between these two wolves and the one we feed will be the winner. Now there is no way that we can ever get rid of the first wolf and by beating ourselves up trying to only makes our situation worse.

We need both wolves in our lives to maneuver through the many traps and pitfalls that live puts in our path but we need to feed both wolves in order to defeat the internal struggle we face. Realistically in order to survive we need all of these traits but not in excess and not by trying to hide the one that causes us to become a hateful person.

Today it seems that the bad wolf has taken over many segments of society and no one is trying to place any filters on it. Those who hate and destroy will never realize that they are being pulled apart by a force that they have allowed to grow inside of them and sooner or later they will have nothing.

I guess I'm ruled by the Bad wolf. Usually when people mistreat me or make me upset I guess I'm incapable of trying to see things from their point of view or consider their feelings. Usually I just lift a leg on 'em......

I think that we are inundated with many negative things daily from all angles. The problem is that the positive is rarely on the front page. It exists. People still strive to do good and help others but it isn't celebrated. I would say to John Cervone, yes, there are many bad wolves in our world but there are just as many good wolves willing to fight back. If you look, you will find them.

Wolves are wolves are don't put up with much BS from anyone. They take care of their families to the best of their abilities. When necessary they discipline the ones that get out of hand, even if expulsion from the pack or death.

Our society has been making excuses for what Mr. Cervone terms the Bad Wolf. It's time we stop, cut the BS and treat the Bad Wolves as required to save the pack a.k.a. our society.
