Yearlong project unveiled at Rhodes

ON DISPLAY: Members of the Rhodes community view the mural that took the students most of the school year to complete.

READY FOR UNVEILING: The sea life mural spans an entire wall of the upstairs hallway at Edward S. Rhodes Elementary School and was completed by the students in the intermediate grades, along with the faculty members, parent volunteers and Artists in Residence from the Artists’ Exchange.

An unveiling was held at Rhodes Elementary School, providing the students with an opportunity to show the school community the art project that had been a work in progress throughout most of the school year. The three-dimensional mural showing sea life typical of the Narragansett Bay area was unveiled during the school's Arts Night, a night for students to show off their many talents for family and friends. The mural, housed on the intermediate hallway, was seen in its entirety by many of the students' families for the first time.
