Bazaar boosts East

The Bolts Bazaar was back last Saturday.

The annual fundraiser hosted by Cranston High School East raises money for the school. During the year, local vendors join together to run a bazaar. All proceeds are donated directly to school. Cranston East Alumni, Jess Moquin, has been organizing this event each year; however last year’s event was put on hold due to Covid.

They raised more than $5,000 which will go toward helping Ms. Tejada (the assistant principal) run a benefit program for the students. It’s a point system for good behavior where they can redeem their points for prizes, ticket to prom, $5 Dunkin card, etc. The program will help instill in the children that good behavior will be greatly rewarded! The event had 51 vendors, over 10 school groups, raffles, a selfie station and even a visit from Santa! (Herald photos by Steve Popiel)
