FROM STAFF REPORTS In light of the recent COVID-19 surge throughout the state, the Community College of Rhode Island announced in a press release that it would not allow spectators to athletic events for the duration of January.

The school did, however, leave the door open for a potential return in February or later.

“With the recent surge in Covid-19 cases fueled by the new variant CCRI Athletics will not allow spectators to any games/contests during the month of January,” the press release said. “The department will assess the situation towards the end of January to see if the environment and outlook will allow for our loyal fans to come back in our home games. Please inform your student/athletes so they can tell friends and family.”
