Celebrating Arbor Day

St. Paul’s School students, Pre-K to second grade, learned about the importance of trees and plants for the environment at an April 29 Arbor Day celebration at William Hall Library. Mary Jo Hines of the Edgewood Garden Club led the lesson which included students mulching the base of the new McDowel dogwood tree and planting pansies in the flagpole garden. The observance was a joint project of the garden club and the Library’s Board of Trustees, which is responsible for upkeep of the library’s building and grounds (Photo by Kathy Schnabel).
